EFL League Two play-off dates and kick-off times are announced as Bristol Rovers learn potential fate

The English Football League have confirmed when the League Two play-off semi-finals and final will take place with Bristol Rovers holding an interest.

Depending on the outcome of their results, Rovers could be one of the sides that has a prolonged season, albeit by a maximum of two to three games.

Joey Barton’s side are currently sixth in the table and should the season end now would be one of the four teams involved in the end-of-season spectacle.

As it stands, Rovers would be facing fifth-placed Northampton Town and would play them at home first on Saturday, May 14 given their league position before playing the return leg four days later at Sixfields on Wednesday, May 18.

The final is due to take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 28, which is the same day as the UEFA Champions League final, which is being held in Paris, having initially been scheduled for Moscow.

There are still five games to play and in Forest Green, Exeter City, Mansfield Town and Sutton United, a further game to play given some postponements.

Sitting below Newport County and still in contention of a play-off spot are Salford, Tranmere Rovers and Ben Garner’s Swindon Town, who will be hoping to extend their season by a further two games.

Out of the teams left for Rovers to play, they face Salford in eighth, Port Vale in third, as well as league leaders Forest Green , plus 16th-placed Rochdale and bottom of the table Scunthorpe United, who are destined from the drop.

First leg

Saturday 14th May - 19:45 - 7th v 4th Sunday 15th May - 12:00 - 6th v 5th

Second leg

Wednesday 18th May - 19:45 - 4th v 7th

Thursday 19th May - 19:45 - 5th v 6th

Final

Saturday 28th May - 16:00
