Bristol Rovers continue their push for a League Two playoff spot when they welcome Barrow to the Memorial Stadium.

More than half the division are in action on Tuesday evening but should results go their way, they could move to within a point of seventh-placed Swindon Town, who hold a four point lead over them.

Rovers drew 1-1 with Exeter City on Saturday whilst the Bluebirds were held to a goalless draw by Harrogate Town.

A total of 16 points and 10 places separate Rovers and Barrow, so Joey Barton’s side will be firm favourites when the Cumbrian side make the long trip down.

When does the match start?

The match will kick-off at the Memorial Stadium at the usual kick-off time at 19.45 GMT.

There is no fresh injury news other than there is a bout of illness and some niggles for players to get through. Nick Anderton was one of those players ill against Orient on Tuesday but he was well enough to be on the bench.

Joey Barton has said he could make a few changes but given there’s been a consistent run of form, don’t expect it to be wholesale.

Alfie Kilgour, Alex Rodman and Josh Grant are not expected to play a part with their returns still uncertain.

Front-man Josh Gordon was back in the side after missing almost the whole month due to a calf injury but made a return and played for 70 minutes.

Midfielder Ollie Banks is their top scorer this season with eight goals in 29 appearances across all competitions. Patrick Brough is their top assists maker, supplying three goals in the 2700 minutes he’s accumulated this season.

One of their most common formations they have used this season is a 3-4-2-1 formation, which can also alternate to a 3-4-1-2.

Form guide and head-to-head

In the earlier part of the season, the two played to a 1-1 draw, despite Barrow being reduced to ten men after Mark Ellis was sent off. Sam Nicholson took the lead on the cusp of half-time but Ollie Banks equalised.

Tuesday’s meeting will be the tenth between the two sides and there isn’t much to separate them, with Rovers winning four times, Barrow winning three and there also being two draws. Their last victory against them came in 2006, a 3-2 win in the FA Cup.

Barrow have one win in five matches, which was against Northampton Town at the start of February. Since then they have drawn against Tranmere, Stevenage and Harrogate Town, whilst also losing to Hartlepool United on the road.

Referee

David Rock, who has mainly officiated in League Two is the referee, along with his assistants Alex James, Robert Dabbs and fourth official Robert Lewis.

Rock, who hails from Hertfordshire, was in charge of the 3-1 defeat to Leyton Orient back in September. He brandished eight yellow cards that day with two going to Alfie Kilgour and Sam Finley.
