Bristol Rovers netted a stoppage-time penalty to get a deserved point in a 1-1 draw with Derby County at the Memorial Stadium.

Antony Evans scored from the spot with an emphatic effort from 12-yards after being fouled by Harvey White to cancel out David McGoldrick’s early opener. Rovers stretch their unbeaten run to three matches and put a dent in to the Rams’ promotion push, with the opposition sure to be frustrated given how long they led.

Joey Barton’s men are now 15th, and have reached his target of 52 points, which was set out at the start of the campaign. Rovers are now three points off of Lincoln City in mid-table and have a game in hand.

James Belshaw - 7

He made a good few saves from McGoldrick and White, but could do nothing about the goal.

Luca Hoole - 7

Goal came down from his side with Barkhuizen not closed down, but he picked himself up and delivered a good display.

Lewis Gibson - 7

Confidence personified. Gibson was controlled in possession and was one of Rovers’ better players.

James Connolly - 6

Connolly wasn’t near anyone when the ball came in for McGoldrick’s goal. He continued to grow as the game went on though.

Lewis Gordon (subbed off, 71) - 7

Did alright against the tricky Mendez-Laing, and made a few positive runs going forward.

Lamare Bogarde - 7

Bogarde did well in the centre of the park and it shows how highly he’s rated that he was kept on the pitch amid several chanes.

Sam Finley (subbed off, 71) - 6

A bit of a sloppy display from Finley. He’s usually tidier in his play but was sucked in to fouls, and lost the ball a few times.

Grant Ward (subbed off, 83) - 7

Rovers won the midfield battle and their attacks came from the centre. Ward did alright and can be happy with his display.

Harry Anderson (subbed off, 46) - 6

Failed to take Rovers’ best chance in the first-half as he hit the post. He couldn’t get much luck down his flank.

Aaron Collins - 6

A frustrating game for Collins. Tasked with leading the line in the first-half but had no luck. He didn’t have the chances he would have liked in the second.

Scott Sinclair (subbed on, 83) - 6

Sinclair had the majority of Rovers’ chances but he just couldn’t find the back of the net.

Ryan Loft (subbed on, 46) - 6

A few half opportunities but just couldn’t get a good enough chance away.

Antony Evans (subbed on, 71) - 7

Fouled for the penalty and showed great composure to take the penalty given the moment of the game.

Josh Coburn (subbed on, 71) - 6

Came on but didn’t get any chances of note.

John Marquis (subbed on, 83) - N/A

Luke McCormick (subbed on, 83) - N/A
