Bristol Rovers transfers: 10 loan strikers to consider signing including Tottenham, Aston Villa & West Ham starlets

Prolific strikers are hard to come by but Bristol Rovers could unearth a gem in the loan market

Bristol Rovers remain quiet in the transfer market at the moment but things could change when the summer transfer window officially opens on Friday.

Striker isn’t necessarily a major priority right now with the two noticeable gaps at centre-back the biggest issue at the moment. It’s still an area though that may need addressing this summer given the departures of experienced pair Brett Pitman and Leon Clarke.

Aaron Collins, who was top scorer with 16 goals last season is expected to lead the line, but at times has been considered as an unconventional forward.

There is also Ryan Loft, brought in from Scunthorpe United in January, he only found the net once, but it was an important goal against Port Vale. He’s a completely different mould of striker and comes in at six foot three.

Harvey Saunders, who worked with Joey Barton at Fleetwood Town is another option but he found opportunities limited last season, whilst youngster Harvey Greenslade has signed terms.

The difficulty will be for any striker which could be for a fee, a free transfer or a loan is game time as that ultimately gives them momentum to find the back of the net. Striker isn’t usually a position either where there’s many available that can deliver goals as they are hard to come by.

Given how quiet it is with speculation right now, we’ve looked at some players that played in League One and had some joy in the third tier last year and could return again.

Below are ten strikers that could be loaned out again by their parent clubs including some loanees from Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
