Bristol Rovers boss Inigo Calderon has said work is going on ‘behind the scenes’ at the Memorial Ground as they look to bolster their ranks. He has shared this update on their recruitment plans: “I know there’s a lot of things behind the scenes to try to make the team better and to improve them but at the same time I don’t think we have to rush anything. I’m happy with what we have. If we can bring someone that’s better to the table [it’s] welcome. If not, I don’t think we have to bring [in] players just for the fact of bringing them.”
On the outgoing front, Kofi Shaw will stay at Yeovil Town on loan until the end of the season. Dan Ellison will also be sticking around with Aldershot Town until the summer.
Birmingham City eye centre-back
Birmingham City boss Chris Davies has said they ‘absolutely’ need to sign a new centre-back this winter. The Blues have let Dion Sanderson head out the exit door to join Blackburn Rovers.
Davies has said: “I said to Dion that ultimately he wants more game time and as the season went on he wasn’t going to get that here as one of our first choice centre-backs, so if the right opportunity came up for him to go and play then we would look into that. That’s why he’s gone. Absolutely, that’s something we will need (a new defender).”

Wigan Athletic target Crystal Palace defender Tayo Adaramola

Wigan Athletic are interested in a move for Crystal Palace defender Tayo Adaramola, according to London News Online. The 21-year-old has spent the first-half of this term with Stockport County and played 10 games for the Hatters.
The left-back, who is a Republic of Ireland youth international, has been on the books at Selhurst Park since 2015. He has played twice for the Eagles’ first-team and has also been loaned out in the past to Coventry City and RWD Molenbeek.
After signing him for Stockport last summer, their manager Dave Challinor said: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Tayo to the Club. Again, he’s another player who has been on our radar for some time now, as his profile is one that we really feel suits our style and what we require from our full-backs and wing-backs. His intent to be positive and run forward with pace will undoubtedly benefit us and he has the athleticism to do this over extended periods.”
