The stats experts predict where Bristol Rovers will finish in the League One table this season.
Bristol Rovers lie on the fringes of the League One play-off places after they came from behind to claim a valuable three points at relegation threatened Cambridge United on Saturday afternoon.
Joey Barton’s side fell behind in the early stages as Sam Smith opened the scoring with just five minutes on the clock but it was Rovers that took a lead into half-time as they hit back with two goals in five minutes from Josh Coburn and Scott Sinclair.
That lead remained when they full-time whistle was blown at the Abbey Stadium to ensure the Gas lie just three points and two places outside of the top six as they prepare to turn their attention to Tuesday night’s Papa John’s Trophy home tie against Plymouth Argyle.
Next Saturday’s visit to struggling Accrington Stanley will offer Rovers an opportunity to push into the play-off places and leave an exciting run-in to the end of the season lying ahead of them. But where are Barton’s men predicted to finish come the end of the campaign? We utilise information from stats experts FiveThirtyEight to assess how the League One table could look when the final whistle is blown on the season on the first weekend of May.
