Bristol Rovers came from behind as Joey Barton beat his former club Fleetwood Town on his return to Highbury Stadium.

Grant Ward and Lewis Gibson scored in a strong 10-minute spell just before and after an hour of action to cancel out Jayden Stockley’s first-half opener.

The Gas now have three wins-in-a-row on their travels and are now just a point off of Joey Barton’s target of 52 points. Rovers are now 13 points clear of the drop zone and have a game in hand over 21st-placed Accrington Stanley.

Here’s how we rated the Bristol Rovers players in their win over Fleetwood on their Easter Monday victory in Lancashire.

James Belshaw - 6

Not many saves to make but it was a collective issue for Stockley’s opening goal. A comfortable afternoon for the goalkeeper who didn’t need to do much.

Lewis Gordon - 7

Great delivery with his crosses in the first-half. He was unlucky not to have someone get on his crosses.

Lewis Gibson - 7

Lost his marker which allowed Stockley to head home. He picked himself up though and was on hand to score Rovers’ equaliser. It was a resurgent display from him.

James Connolly - 7

Gibson will get the plaudits for his goal but Connolly’s resurgence continues.

Luca Hoole - 7

Another good display from Hoole who went forward to attack numerous times. Composed.

Grant Ward - 8

New contract please! Ward put in a great display for Rovers and will have enjoyed his goal. His quick-thinking and the ability to deliver on it is admirable.

Lamare Bogarde - 7

A good couple of interventions in the centre of the park.

Aaron Collins (subbed off, 81) - 6

Collins had a few chances but Lynch was alert to them. He was involved in Gibson’s goal with his shot fumbled.

Sam Finley - 6

Good thinking for Gibson’s equaliser by laying the ball off to Collins.

Antony Evans (subbed off, 46) - 6

Evans started brightly with two set-piece deliveries but no teammate could get to them. An uneventful display.

John Marquis (subbed off, 46) - 6

Marquis was the hero last Friday but in his one and only chance he didn’t take it.

Josh Coburn (subbed on, 46) - 6

Had a few moments and peeled away from his markers a few times.

Ryan Loft (subbed on, 46) - 6

Came on and did the rough work as a tall striker, drawing fouls and frustrating the opposition.

James Gibbons (subbed on, 81) - N/A

Harry Anderson (subbed on, 89), N/A
