Bristol Rovers got back to winning ways on the road as they beat Exeter City at St James Park to secure back-to-back wins in League One.
The Gas took the the lead inside the opening quarter of an hour as debutant Brandon Aguilera scored an absolute rocket with his left foot into the top corner after a loose ball in the Exeter final third.
It was Exeter City who started the brighter of the two sides and had a penalty claim waved away inside the opening 10 minutes of the match. But soon after Matt Taylor's side took the lead after a thunderbolt from Aguilera to send the Gasheads into chaos behind Vil Sinisalo's goal.
The Grecians looked to get back into the match with Vincent Harper as he cut in onto his right foot and fired a shot which hit the crossbar. The Gas then almost doubled their lead on the half hour mark as Antony Evans diverted Harvey Vale's cross towards Sinisalo's goal with his head, however the goalkeeper made a fingertip save to deny Rovers.
Aguilera was heavily involved again soon after as Chris Martin found the Costa Rican in the penalty area, but he fired his shot from a tight angle at the Exeter goalkeeper.
The second-half commenced and Exeter started as they did in the first with Jack Aitchison, whom drilled his effort low and just wide of Jed Ward's post after tidy play from Gary Caldwell's side.
On the hour mark, Sonny Cox found himself one-on-one with Jed Ward, but the young goalkeeper stood strong and denied the Grecians a deserved equaliser.
The hosts continued to pile on the pressure and Ward continued to keep the Gas ahead as the final 20 minutes approached. Soon after, Ward tipped Reece Cole's freekick onto the crossbar, putting in a man of the match performance.
The victory moved the Gas into 10th position in the table, meanwhile the visitors stayed in 17th.

Evans played just off Martin and tried to link up the play in an attacking sense. He had limited chances, but had his headed effort well saved in the first-half. His relentless running was impressive for Rovers. | PA
