Bristol Rovers on FIFA 23 - Gallery of new Gas haircuts on world’s biggest football video game - as support shown to Bristol Razors
EA Sports have supported the Bristol Razors campaign in their own way by changing the hair of all Bristol Rovers players.
Bristol Rovers players and staff braved the shave last month as part of the clubs 'Bristol Razors' campaign to help support first-team player Nick Anderton. The 26-year-old was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.
Mostly all of the squad and staff, shaved their heads in support, and as a result, the GoFundMe campaign, set up by media officer Andy Downie, has raised £43,840 to date. The intended target was £1,600 but the fundraiser has reached all corners of the globe and the footballing community has come out in support of the defender, who helped the Gas to promotion last season.
January is a cold winter month and many of the players have been seen with winter hats during training, but in matches, it's been hard to pick out who is who given everyone's haircut looks similar and it could be even harder in the virtual reality world. EA Sports' popular franchise FIFA have picked up on the Bristol Razors campaign and have changed the haircuts of the majority of the first-team squad.
Most players have had the shortest option going and are unrecognisable to their real-life counterparts, whilst there's the likes of Glenn Whelan and Jordan Rossiter who you could recognise given that their face has been scanned in to the game from their time at Aston Villa and Liverpool.
