Bristol Rovers new £23.9m squad value as Liverpool, Everton, Middlesbrough, and Brentford men rated - gallery

The transfer fees Bristol Rovers players would command - according to Football Manager 2023

The January transfer window is more than half-way through and we are into the last ten days of it with Bristol Rovers at last making some moves.

Joey Barton brought in two new signings this week, both on loan from Premier League clubs, with four more new arrivals wanted by the 40-year-old. Ellery Balcombe joined on Thursday from Brentford after his loan at Crawley Town ended early so he could join the Gas and provide competition for James Belshaw. Finnish goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola is expected to continue his transition into coaching with Ballcombe a worthy competitor for Belshaw.

A much needed centre-back then came through the door as Andy Mangan said news would come imminently on Thursday, and he was right as on Friday, Liverpool's Jarell Quansah was announced as the second signing of the transfer window. Quansah was much sought after and Barton personally went to go and watch him, seemingly happy that the England Under-19 international could replace Bobby Thomas who joined League One rivals Barnsley last week.

As well as incomings, we've already mentioned Thomas returning to Burnley and then getting another loan move, but they also let go Alfie Kilgour in the same week, selling him to Mansfield Town, ending a 17-year association with the club. Trevor Clarke was the first player to leave Rovers, earning a loan move to Shamrock Rovers, where the League of Ireland season runs from February to November. Clarke was offered a two-year contract in the summer which was accepted, but that was regretted by Barton, with a permanent move back to Ireland not outside the realms of possibility.

The current Gas squad is just outside the play-offs with only three points separating Barnsley and ninth-placed Rovers, so how do the squad fare when it comes to valuations? We've looked at the latest edition of Sports Interactive's popular franchise Football Manager to see the valuations of each player.
