Three Bristol City players and one Bristol Rovers player are training together this week.

Wales have organised a four-day training camp at their base in Hensol near Cardiff ahead of their upcoming EURO qualifiers next month. The senior team and Under-21’s have matches and are training together in preparation for their fixtures.

Rob Page’s side face Armenia (June 16) and Turkey (June 19) meanwhile the Under-21’s begin their qualifying campaign against Denmark on June 20. Both City and Rovers are expected to return for pre-season towards the end of June which will make for a lack of a break for involved players.

Luca Hoole, Joe Low, Omar Taylor-Clarke and Harry Leeson have been included in a 34-man squad that includes former Bristol City man Joe Morrell. All four players contracted to Bristol would be expected to be a part of Mathew Jones’ Under-21’s squad.

Hoole and Low featured for the Dragons back in March, but Taylor-Clarke and Leeson are uncapped at U21s level. Hoole has come off a campaign where he has played 44 matches - alternating between centre-back and right-back.

As for Taylor-Clarke, he enjoyed a breakthrough into the Robins senior team with nine appearances. The 19-year-old made three league starts and is highly rated by Nigel Pearson. He later dropped back in to the Under-21’s squad towards the end of the season, but took great benefit from playing with the senior players.

Harry Leeson was an unused substitute for City four times last season. The 19-year-old right-back is under contract until the summer of 2024. Joe Low meanwhile has spent the last five months on loan at Walsall in League Two, racking up 15 appearances for the Saddlers.

League One Player of the Year, Aaron Collins is a surprise exclusion. Collins has been on a break following the end of the 2022/23 season - but has been in fine form and had been pushing for a call-up. The 25-year-old could still be included after 16 goals and 11 assists but given this is a chance to impress Welsh bosses, and he does not featured, it makes it a difficult task.
