Paal is also said to be attracting the interest of Championship rivals, Barnsley.

With Zwolle finishing bottom of the Eredivisie last season, the former Celtic target looks increasingly likely to depart the club in the coming months.

Although BristolWorld now understands there is nothing in the reported interest, here is everything we know about Kenneth Paal...

Who is Kenneth Paal?

Kenneth Paal currently plays left-back for Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle but looks set to leave the city after four years.

It is thought that he is able to also play further up the pitch in left midfield and also more centrally.

The 24-year-old was born in Arnhem in the Netherlands and is of Surinamese descent.

According to transfermarkt.co.uk, Paal is 5 ft 7.

Career highlights

Paal began his professional career with Jong PSV in 2014, before impressing and going onto make his debut with the senior team during the 2017/18 campaign.

The defender only managed six appearances for PSV before he was sent out on loan to PEC Zwolle for the 2018-19 season.

Paal impressed the Dutch club and went onto join them permanently for a reported fee of around £315,000.

The 24-year-old has since shone in Zwolle despite their relegation, making 25 appearances in the Eredivisie last time out.

While Paal was a regular for the Netherlands youth national teams as a teenager, he has been unable to force his way into the senior set-up and could see a transfer away a step in the right direction for his international career.
