The money Bristol City, Leeds United and Watford will make from Euro 2024 with UEFA payouts at £118m

Bristol City will net at least a six-figure sum for their players involvement at EURO 2024.
Ross McCrorie and Tommy Conway are out in Germany representing Scotland. The pair were unused substitutes in the 5-1 defeat to the hosts on Friday (June 14).

Hide AdDespite their lack of pitch time, the Robins will stand to gain at least £280,000 should Scotland go out in the group stages. UEFA offer a payment scheme which is called the Club Benefits Programme and the European governing body compensates clubs based on how long they spend with their national team.
It is not a new thing, with the strategy running in other major tournaments, too, while FIFA had something similar for the 2022 World Cup. Bristol City were paid £9,000 a day for when Antoine Semenyo was at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Ghana, and UEFA offer something similar.
According to our friends at the Edinburgh Evening News, clubs will receive payouts for each player as part of UEFA's club compensation scheme. The amount per player is broken down to around £140,000 for the duration of the group stage. UEFA increased the pot from €130m to €140m, which means there will more compensation from when EURO 2020 was played in 2021.
If Scotland make it past the group stage then Bristol City would earn extra money. They have it all to do though as with a minus four goal difference, whilst Switzerland defeated Hungary 3-1 in the other match in Group A.

Conway and McCrorie are expected to miss some of the pre-season because of their involvement at EURO 2024. The pair have come off a gruelling 2023/24 campaign and only had a few weeks off before preparing for this summer's tournament.
Striker Tommy Conway could depart Ashton Gate this summer too with his contract talks at an impasse. He was offered a new deal because his contract expires in 2025 but now a departure looks likely. Celtic, Rangers, Wolves and Leicester City are just a handful of clubs chasing his signature.
