Three much-needed changes - Predicted Bristol City XI to face Huddersfield Town - gallery

Bristol City want to bounce back from their Severnside Derby loss to Cardiff and this is how we think the Robins will line up.

Bristol City have the chance to put behind them their Severnside Derby defeat against Cardiff as they travel to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

In South Wales, goals from Sory Kaba and Jaden Philogene inflicted defeat on the Robins, who tasted their first Championship defeat since Boxing Day. City had chances to score through Alex Scott and Anis Mehmeti, but Nigel Pearson described it as a 'missed opportunity' after such a positive performance against Manchester City in the FA Cup.

Losing to Cardiff and missing out on bragging rights wasn't the only blow for Bristol City, who saw two players forced off at different stages of the match. Joe Williams withdrawn early in the first-half, complaining of a hamstring problem, with captain Andi Weimann replacing him. Tomas Kalas then complained twice, before finally being brought off for Jay Dasilva, who took his place at left-back, with Cameron Pring moved to the centre.

Williams went for a scan on Saturday evening, meanwhile there was a slightly more positive feel to Kalas, but given he has had a stop-start campaign, Tuesday may come too soon for the Czech Republic of Ireland international. Both players could be afforded rests, whilst City's medical staff assess the situation fully.

Central defence is an area that City cannot afford to lose any more players given Zak Vyner is the only senior option there, after Rob Atkinson suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in mid-February against Sunderland, and Kal Naismith remains sidelined with a calf problem.

City will return to league action just four days after Tuesday night’s tie with a clash against relegation-threatened Blackpool and this is the Robins XI that we think Pearson will send out at the John Smith's Stadium.
