Bristol City travel to play Stoke City in their final match of the 2023/24 Championship season on Saturday lunchtime.
Liam Manning’s Robins will seek to earn a positive result against Steven Schumacher’s Potters as the visitors look to continue their rich vein of form and take some positive momentum into the summer.
Bristol City are unbeaten in seven matches following their comfortable 2-0 win against relegated Rotherham United last weekend, with victories against Leicester City, Plymouth Argyle and Blackburn Rovers too of late.
The Robins have impressed defensively of late, with six clean sheets in their last nine matches. And while goals have been hard to come by at times, nine in their previous four indicates that City might have turned a corner on that front.
However, Manning’s side will face no easy task at the Bet365 Stadium.
Stoke go into the game on a mini unbeaten run of their own, it’s been three matches since the Potters were last defeated, by Swansea City.
In fact, the loss against the Swans is their only defeat in their previous seven matches, and they’ll be full of confidence after seeing off Premier League hopefuls Southampton on Saturday.
The last time these two met, the Robins surrendered an early two-goal advantage as the Potters battled back to eventually win 3-2 thanks to a last-gasp winner from Nathan Lowe.
But, under new boss Manning, Saturday’s visitors will be confident that they can turn the result around this time.
