Christmas is just around the corner and so is the opening of the January transfer window. It’s just over a week until the big day, with a busy festive period of football, with three games crammed in from Boxing Day to the New Year.
It’s Stoke City at Ashton Gate in the final game before Christmas for Bristol City this Saturday, but there’s another big day on the horizon, the opening of the January transfer window. The winter window isn’t something that Nigel Pearson usually utilises but he wants to do business, though he has admitted he will have to move players on if he wants to recruit new players.

Hide AdThere are several players out of contract in the summer and moving them on six months early might be a wise decision, but there can’t be too many wholesale changes. City’s squad is slightly settled with the prime target this window being a centre-back to plug their woes at the back.
Pearson wants to do business early as it gives players more time to settle in, but that will mean preparing players to leave. In terms of incomings, there’s been links to Macauley Langstaff, a non-league hot-shot from Notts County, as well as Brighton’s Evan Ferguson and Torino centre-back Koffi Djidji.
City fans know that they’re not going to be able to splash the cash, but that doesn’t stop them from wanting to see new players at the club. We’ve asked the readers of BristolWorld, what players they’d like to see come through the door at the High Performance Centre.
