Ahead of Thursday night’s transfer deadline, City appear to be searching for a frontman, with Sky Sports claiming they are interested in a deal for West Brom’s Callum Robinson.

The website says Bristol City have made an approach alongside Burnley for the 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international who was not in the squad for West Brom’s draw against Wigan last night.

But it seems Cardiff City are more likely to win the race, and just in case the Robins can’t secure a forward on time, we have rounded up the best free agents available.

Take a look below.

Matej Vydra

Vydra most recently spent four years with Burnley, scoring eight times in 82 league appearances.

The Czech Republic international left Burnley at the end of his contract this summer, and he is now on the lookout for a new club.

Vydra previously spent time at Watford, Reading and Derby County.

Sammy Ameobi

Sammy Ameobi is available after being released by Middlesbrough at the end of his short-term deal.

The winger never made a league appearance for Boro, but he did feature regularly during his time at Nottingham Forest, playing 77 times in the Championship during a two-year spell.

Before that, he spent time at Bolton Wanderers.

Tom Rogic

Rogic is now a free agent after leaving Celtic this summer.

The Australian was a much-loved figure at Parkhead, spending nine years with the Hoops, making 178 league appearances.

He scored 32 times during that long spell, but he is now looking for a new club at the age of 29.

Izzy Brown

Brown is known from his Chelsea days, and he spent time on loan at various clubs during that time.

He spent time with the likes of Huddersfield Town, Luton Town and others.

He spent a season with Preston last term, but he was released for being below standard, and that would concern any prospective suitor.

Aaron Lennon

Lennon is the most senior players available, now 35 years of age.

He left Burnely after one season this summer, scoring twice in 25 league appearances for the Clarets in his second spell with the club.

Lennon is an experienced winger, who time with Everton and Tottenham earlier in his career.

He picked up 21 caps during his England career, and he should bring leadership and experience to any dressing room.

Andy Carroll

Carroll is a complex one, now 33 and on the lookout for a new club after short spells with Reading and West Brom.

He only made 23 appearances across both of those spells, and the biggest risk with the striker is, of course, keeping him fit.

Fraizer Campbell

The former Manchester United academy graduate made his name with Sunderland before going on to enjoy a successful spell with Cardiff.

Since then, he has spent time with Crystal Palace, Hull City and Huddersfield Town.

In the latter spell, Campbell spent three years with the Terriers, scoring 10 times in 92 league appearances.

Campbell would add experience, likely making an impact off the bench.
