Huddersfield Town have become the latest Championship club to part ways with their manager, sacking Mark Fotheringham after 21 games in the hot seat.
The Terriers are on the search for their fourth manager of the season after Carlos Corberan resigned, whilst Danny Schofield and his successor Fotheringham was sacked. Naris Pelach, assistant to Corberan has been placed in caretaker charge whilst the Yorkshire club seek a successor.
Huddersfield are 22nd, and a point adrift of safety, after drawing 2-2 with relegation rivals Blackpool who changed their manager recently. Former Sunderland and Wolves boss Mick McCarthy replaced Michael Appleton, as they sought someone to change their fortunes around.
Unsurprisingly, only six clubs have had a manager in place for longer than a year, and one of those is Bristol City. Nigel Pearson, who came under pressure in December after a bad run of form, has come out fighting, and things are on the up at Ashton Gate. He is nearly two-years into his three-year contract at Ashton Gate, and the plan is for the club to reach the Premier League in the final year of his contract, which could be extended. Pearson's own admission is that City could be his last club, and delivering top-flight football would be a fitting end to a long-career in football.
City have afforded Pearson time to implement his ideas, and he has been tasked with reducing the wage bill, whilst also keeping the team competitive. The recent sale of Antoine Semenyo to Bournemouth has allowed the club to spend, and now City could bare the fruits of Pearson's labour.
