Bristol City and Leeds United could not be separated at the weekend as the two played to a 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate in the EFL Championship.
Max O'Leary denied Willy Gnonto and Dan James in the first-half after a bright start from the hosts. Zak Vyner in the second period made a goal line clearance to deny Gnonto from giving Leeds the lead, and they were able to grind out a well deserved point. City are now unbeaten in six matches, and they can now look ahead to their trip to Preston North End at the weekend.
Elsewhere in the Championship, Portsmouth lost to Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night, leaving them with just one win all season. Coventry City came from behind to defeat Luton Town, whilst Watford and Millwall claimed narrow wins over Blackburn Rovers and Swansea City.
There were 2-0 wins for Sheffield United and Sunderland who beat won Stoke City and Oxford United respectively whilst there were two other goalless draws between Burnley and QPR as well as West Brom and Cardiff City. Two games had six goals apiece with Plymouth Argyle and Preston North End finishing 3-3 as well as Norwich City and Middlesbrough.
The only different result combination was when Derby County and Hull City had a goal apiece as they played to a 1-1 draw. The table has Sunderland at the top, five points clear of second-placed Burnley, whilst Portsmouth are four points adrift of Plymouth.
We’re now a quarter of the way through the season, which is a good time to assess where everyone is at. Below is a fresh prediction of how the 2024/25 Championship will finish, after the latest round of results.
