Avon and Somerset Police has issued a statement over damage caused to toilets at Ashton Gate by visiting Swansea City supporters last month. Shared video on social media shows ceiling panels and fittings on the floor of the away end toilets after two sides met on October 29.

The damage doesn’t appear to be as bad as when Cardiff City fans">supporters from Cardiff City vandalised the toilets in January, with the Welsh club then offering to pay for the costs involved for repairs.

However, Bristol City said it would pass on CCTV over the damage caused by Swansea City supporters to the police, according to Bristol Live. And this week, Avon and Somerset Police confirmed to Bristol World that officers were currently working with the club as part of their investigation.

The force also re-issued an appeal for anyone who saw the damage being done to get in contact.

More than 2,000 Swansea City supporters were at the game, which took place at 12pm following a request from the police. Meetings between the two have previously seen trouble. A man was jailed for antisocial behaviour three years ago.

The spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We’ve liaised with Bristol City FC about criminal damage caused to toilets in the away section of Ashton Gate during the match against Swansea on Saturday (October 29).
