Bristol City fans have been reacting to their side’s Severnside derby defeat to Cardiff City.

The Robins made the short trip to Cardiff hoping to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat to Manchester City, but they managed to such feat. Nigel Pearson’s men had the lion’s share of possession, but the Bluebirds put together a comprehensive second-half performance to reclaim the bragging rights following a defeat at Ashton Gate earlier this season.

January signing Sory Kaba put Sabri Lamouchi’s side ahead seven minutes after half-time, and Jaden Philogene rubber-stampted the victory for Cardiff just eight minutes later. City failed to mount a comeback after that, managing just four shots on target at the Cardiff City Stadium, while Cardiff did have goalkeeper Ryan Allsop sent off in stoppage time for a handball outside the area.

As a result, City remain two points off the top half, with 12th place Preston and the rest of the division playing later on Saturday, though those games will give Pearson’s men their game in hand back.

In the meantime, Robins fans have been reacting to the defeat. Here’s what some fans have had to say on Twitter.

BCFC_Supporters - “City are back.”

JamieGrosset06 - “No excuses on that performance.”

Jay_Evans1997 - “Couldn’t have gone worse today with the injuries. Hope they aren’t too bad.”
