Nigel Pearson has made two changes for Bristol City’s trip to St Andrew’s to face Birmingham City.

Alex Scott comes in after serving a one-match suspension and replaces Kal Naismith who is absent with a calf injury. Antoine Semenyo drops to the bench and is replaced by Tommy Conway who was carrying a knock against Coventry City.

The Robins will line up in their usual three-man defence with Andy King dropping to the central of the three a role he assumed in midweek. He’ll be supported by Rob Atkinson on the left of him and Zak Vyner on the right of him, with the pair playing all 12 of City’s Championship matches this season.

In midfield, Mark Sykes will play at right wing-back and Jay Dasilva will operate on the left-hand side. In the centre, Scott will play alongside Han-Noah Massengo in the centre whilst Andi Weimann will play in an advanced position in the midfield, providing a supporting role to the front two.

Nahki Wells, City’s top scorer this year continues to start, but Scotland Under-21 Conway is preferred over Semenyo, having played more times alongside Wells.

Pearson was unable to call upon Joe Williams who was suspended after picking up his fifth booking against Coventry City, whilst Matty James remains out with a calf injury.
