Middlesbrough are trying to tie up a new deal for in-form striker Chuba Akpom, according to a report by Football League World. His current contract at the Riverside Stadium expires at the end of next season (June 2024) after the club exercised their 12-month option last month. The former Arsenal man has scored 19 league goals as Michael Carrick’s side eye promotion to the Premier League.

Sunderland midfielder departs

Sunderland midfielder Owen Robinson has joined Lancaster City on loan for a month. The 19-year-old, who joined the Black Cats from AFC Fylde last year, has been given the green light to head out the exit door on a temporary basis again to get some more experience under his belt. He had a stint at Warrington Rylands to get some game time earlier in this campaign.

Hull City defender wanted

Hull City defender Jacob Greaves is reportedly attracting Premier League interest. According to the Daily Mail, top flight trio Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Brentford are all keen on snapping him up this summer.

The Hull-born man has risen up through the academy of his local side and has become one of their most prized assets. He played for the Tigers against Bristol City last Saturday.
