High from their Severnside Derby win in which they came from behind, the Robins play the Hatters in what is a rearranged fixture from Boxing Day.

City were due to play the Hertfordshire side over the festive period but a number of COVID cases saw the game postponed.

Almost a month later after its originally scheduled date we have a match in what is set to be a busy upcoming few weeks with the return of midweek fixtures.

Tomorrow’s opponents are three places ahead of City but there are just three points separating the two, though Luton do have two games in hand.

A win for them could lift them to as high as ninth whereas for Nigel Pearsons side, they could move to 13th.

What’s the latest team news for Bristol City?

Both midfielder Andy King and Rob Atkinson were brought off before the half-hour mark with injuries in Saturday’s win. King, who underwent surgery on his hamstring, had an issue with the same injury, whilst Atkinson was forced off with a back injury.

As it was the immediate aftermath of the match, Pearson couldn’t comment on the severity of the injuries, so the first we’ll know of the extent will be how the team line up tomorrow.

Interestingly, Pearson opted to bring on Dasilva for King, which pushed Scott into the centre of midfield and Dasilva, a left-footed player onto the right hand side. It was a sub that worked well as City went more attacking but midfielder Joe Williams was on the bench. Williams had injured his hamstring and had been out since November, so there may have been an element of caution.

Another midfielder Matty James was not involved in the matchday squad but was pushing hard for a spot on the bench. Pearson said on Friday that the match may have come too soon but now he’s had a few more sessions we could see him back in the side.

After being in and out of the side this month, Martin’s brace against Cardiff puts him in good stead to start on Tuesday.

Nathan Baker isn’t expected to play a match again this season whilst George Tanner is still out with an injury.

What’s the latest team news for Luton Town?

One confirmed absentee for this match is Reece Burke, who was red carded in Luton’s defeat to Sheffield United. He brought down Rhian Brewster and was shown a straight red.

Forward Harry Cornick who has five goals this season has been making progress after suffering a calf injury but is being carefully managed and instead is expected to return in February.

There was also a late alteration to the team on Saturday as a hamstring injury forced Elijah Adebayo to take his place on the bench rather than a starting place with Admiral Muskwe, playing ahead of him. The 23-year-old did come on for Cameron Jerome but he was unable to impact the game after they went 2-0 down. He’s their top scorer this season with 10 goals in 23 matches.

Utility player Kal Naismith has four assists this season, so he’ll be one player that will have to be kept quiet.

Head-to-head

This season, the two met at Ashton Gate and played to a 1-1 draw with Danny Hylton scoring a stoppage time equaliser for the visitors to cancel out Nathan Baker’s opener.

Overall City don’t possess the best record against Luton in recent history, winning just once in the last 21 years.

The two teams are fairly evenly matched though as both have won on 22 occasions whilst there have been 18 draws.

Yes. As this is a midweek kick-off, you should be able to watch it on Robins TV. It’s £9.99 for a pass and includes analysis from inside the club with usually a staff member or former City player appearing.

Luton Town are also streaming the match on iFollow and that is available for £9.99.

If you’re a Sky Sports subscriber and don’t want to pay for a pass then tune in to Gillette Soccer Special and you’ll be able to see the goals fly in as they happen.

How can I watch highlights?

As this is not a full set of Championship fixtures and mainly games that were rearranged because of postponements, there will not be an edition of the EFL on Quest.
