Joey Barton, true to form, has expressed his anger in a press conference. He took issue with Rovers’ first choice goalkeeper, blaming him for the four goals his side conceded against Exeter City on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Bristol City have made no intentions to pursue a 21-year-old starlet they were formerly interested in. It’s currently unclear who the Robins will look towards to bolster their squad in January.

Joey Barton expresses frustration with James Belshaw, says “no one is safe”

Rovers boss Joey Barton was unhappy with the performance of James Belshaw yesterday evening, as the Gas fell to a 4-3 home to defeat against Exeter. According to Bristol Live, he is considering “reinforcing that position”.

Additionally, Barton said “everyone’s position is under threat” in the same press conference. While Belshaw bore the brunt of Barton’s vitriol, it appears clear that he is ready to replace anyone who underperforms in the Rovers team.

Bristol City not interested in Fisayo Dele-Bashiru

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has attracted himself the attention of several teams, both in England and overseas. However, it is understood that Bristol City are not one of them, as Bristol World reported.

While the Robins were previously linked with the youngster, manager Nigel Pearson put those rumours to the sword. It is understood that the Robins’ stance has not changed. He said in August: “I’ve never lodged an interest in that so I don’t know where that has come from.”
