Cardiff meanwhile come into the fixture having lost 1-0 to ten-man Blackburn Rovers last weekend which extended a five-game winless run in the Championship.

The Robins are four places above the Welsh side with a seven-point gap separating the two though they do hold a game in hand.

This is the first derby at Ashton Gate that will take place with fans in five years, with the last two being played behind-closed-doors.

Robbie Cundy though has stepped up his progress and was spotted in training earlier in the week after featuring for the Under-23’s side.
