Birmingham City have tied up a new deal for goalkeeper John Ruddy, as announced by their official website. The stopper has been a key player for the Midlands club this season and kept a clean sheet against Bristol City last month as his side won 3-0.

He has put pen-to-paper on a fresh contract running until 2024 and has said: “I am really pleased to be extending for another season. It has been a good fit for me and the club so it is positive for both parties. I have enjoyed my time here, working with the manager and the players in general and it is always nice to be playing games. I spent a lot of time without playing so to get that bug back is a major factor as well.”

Preston North End youngster completes exit

Preston North End youngster Dana Amaral has been given the green light to leave on loan. He has linked up with non-league side Ashton United.

The midfielder has joined the North West club on a deal until January, the Lilywhites have confirmed. They will be hoping he can get plenty of game time under his belt.

Rotherham United’s Ben Wiles is ready to listen to a new contract offer, as reported by the Yorkshire Post. The midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of June next year.

The Millers have adapted well to the step back up to the second tier after winning promotion from League One in the last campaign. They lost Paul Warne to Derby County in September and have since replaced him with Matt Taylor.
