The start of pre-season is in sight for Bristol City with the players back in training in the next few weeks.
Robins supporters are taking in EURO 2024 where two of their contracted players are involved. Ross McCrorie and Tommy Conway are both away on international duty with Scotland, who drew 1-1 with Switzerland. Neither player has featured in their two games at the tournament, but UEFA will compensate City for the time they spend out in Germany.
Back in England, it has been reported by the Bristol Post that the club remain in talks about signing Scott Twine. City are confident that a deal can be struck and that it could be a swift transfer process if terms are agreed.
Twine has been training at the High Performance Centre in the off season to keep himself fit for the season ahead, whether that is with Burnley or City. He is valued at £5m by the Clarets, and currently they are without a manager after Vincent Kompany left for Bayern Munich.
If City do re-sign Twine then there will be a feeling of optimism around the place that this season can be a successful one. Liam Manning has laid the foundations after securing an 11th-placed finish, and with Joe Williams signing a new deal amid interest from Preston North End, then there's no reason why they can't move up the table.
Elsewhere in the division, Sunderland are another team without a manager. Mick Beale was sacked and Mike Dodds was appointed as caretaker, but the search for Beale's permanent replacement at the Stadium of Light goes on.
Some teams have already done some bits of transfer business, whilst others are still to announce their full pre-season plans and new kits. Nevertheless, people are still making predictions about who will finish where next season.
Here, BristolWorld has compiled a table ranked in from the teams that aren't being fancied to the ones tipped the most for success next season.
