Where Bristol City rank in Championship record transfer fee table - including Sheffield United, Cardiff & more

Whether they’ve previously been in the Premier League or just chasing a top in the top flight, the EFL clubs have previously spent millions recruiting top talent.

The 24 clubs who make up the EFL Championship each year usually have different budgets when it comes to spending money on player transfers.

Those clubs who have recently competed in the Premier League, or even the ones going all out to get there, tend to dig deep into their pockets when it comes to bringing in new talent.

Meanwhile, clubs at the opposite end of the table have more modest budgets and aren’t in a position to make multiple big money signings year on year.

Several clubs have proven over the years that you don’t need to spend big to be successful in the Championship, but it can certainly help!

The likes of Fulham, Bournemouth and Sheffield United have all sunk record fees into individuals over the past few years while other teams haven’t done so for quite some time.

Many Championship teams haven’t broken their record fee in over a decade while others can date back to the turn of the millenium or even the late 1990s!

Here are all 24 EFL Championship clubs ranked from highest to lowest based on the record fee they have ever paid for a single player including how much was spent and when the deal was done:
