Bristol City's away form is something that needs to be addressed if they are to be competitive in the Championship this season.
The Robins have gone 10 games without a defeat at Ashton Gate, but it's on the road that things need to improve. They've played four games away from the West Country so far, drawing 1-1 twice, whilst also suffering 3-0 defeats on two occasions.
When the international break is over, Liam Manning's men face trips to Middlesbrough, and Stoke City. The trek up to the Riverside Stadium is one of the longest away days they will do this season, with Sunderland the other long distance match.
A midweek trip then to Staffordshire will see any ardent Robins fans rock up the miles. Trips to Preston North End and Norwich City are also to follow before the final international break of 2024.
With it being just three games before the quarter mark of the season, now is a good time to see how things are shaping up in the Championship. English football fans have an obsession of boasting the best support in the division, and the way of doing that is by looking at the attendance figures.
Of course, the table isn’t going to be entirely fair until the season is over, because then everyone will have made their respective trips to each of the 23 other teams. There’s plenty of things to argue about too, as some clubs will be forced to travel to somewhere on a midweek and might not take as much, whereas on a weekend, obviously more people are available with less worries about education and work.
City’s largest away following of the season so far was the 3,068 who made the trip to Derby County. Unfortunately they weren't rewarded for their efforts as they witnessed a 3-0 defeat at Pride Park.
