The EFL Championship season is fast approaching the winter break for the FIFA World Cup finals which will come just before the halfway point in the campaign.

The division is already on match day 17 of 46 and Bristol City currently find themselves sitting 13th in the table with 21 points having won six, drawn three and lost eight. Their most recent outing saw Nigel Pearson’s side suffer a 2-0 defeat to Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium with Mamadou Loum and Andy Carroll getting the goals. It means the Robins have now lost four of their last five matches with the only win coming last Tuesday when they beat West Brom.

Supporters will be hoping they can boost the chances of their team with back-to-back home games up next, first against Swansea City on October 29 and then against Sheffield United on November 1. Ashton Gate crowds have consistently been amongst the higher numbers in the division this season and a bumper crowd could go a long way towards a positive result. Robins’ fans have managed to fill their 27,000 capacity stadium to an average of just under three quarters full so far this season.
