Nigel Pearson’s side aren’t the greatest of travellers and have not won an away match since beating Peterborough United in October and have also failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 21 away matches. They have conceded at least twice in each of the last 11 league matches, conceding a total of 31.  Pearson though is unbeaten on his last four meetings to Nottingham though which could work in his favour.

Shipping goals has been an issue for City and there have been three or more goals in each of their last nine matches. Forest are partial to entertaining games themselves as in their last four home matches, three or more goals have been scored.

Should Forest claim a victory then they would claim their first league double over City since the 2010/11 season. The hosts have only lost one of their last nine home matches which was to Huddersfield Town back in December.

The two teams met back in October and after taking the lead through Alex Scott, City conceded two quickfire stoppage-time goals to Lyle Taylorwhich saw Forest come away with a 2-1 win.

There have been 97 meetings between the two teams and this is a favourable fixture for Forest given they’ve won 42 times to City’s 22, whilst there has also been 33 draws.

Referee

Darren Bond has been appointed as the referee and he will be assisted by Mark Russell and Lee Venamore with the fourth official being James Bell.

Bond, who hails from Lancashire, has refereed seven games this season, mainly in the Championship but a Bristol City match hasn’t been one of them. The last time he officiated a City match was the 1-0 defeat to Swansea City back in July 2020 in which no cards were brandished.

Can I watch the match?
