Bristol City got their Championship campaign underway with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Hull City on Saturday afternoon.
A first-half strike from Andreas Weimann was cancelled out by two late goals from the hosts, with Jean Michael Seri scoring an eventual winner in the 94th minute.

But while matters on the pitch might not have gone the way Nigel Pearson was hoping, the City boss will be hoping for better fortunes over the remainder of the transfer window.
With that in mind, here is Sunday’s Bristol City-related transfer speculation...

Celtic are “keeping tabs” on City striker Antoine Semenyo, according to transfer insider Pete O’Rourke.
The Hoops have been linked with the forward in the past, with his agent revealing to Football Scotland that the Scottish champions had shown interest over a potential deal earlier in the year.
And according to O’Rourke, the Bhoys are expected to be persistent in their pursuit of the 22-year-old.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he said: “If it doesn’t happen during this summer transfer window, he is probably somebody who might reemerge on the scene for the January transfer window.
“Celtic have been keeping tabs on him for a while and I’m sure that will continue.”
It is understood that City would demand around £15 million for Semenyo.

Bournemouth eye Bentley
Bourneouth are considering a move for City goalkeeper Dan Bentley, according to an update from talkSPORT.
The Cherries are understood to be in the market for defensive reinforcements, with two new centre-backs and a new stopper top of their list of priorities.
Manager Scott Parker has been running the rule over trialists Jonas Lossl and Alex Smithies in recent days, as he looks to bring in competition and cover for current number one Mark Travers.

But it is also claimed that the ex-England international is a fan of Bentley, with the implication being that the Premier League new boys could turn to the 29-year-old if they are dissatisfied with Lossl and Smithies.
Bentley joined City from Brentford in 2019, and has since gone on to make 129 appearances for the Robins.
