Bristol City’s top performers in February - according to stats experts

February was a month of contrasting fortunes for Nigel Pearson and his Bristol City side as they continued their battle to find some consistency in performances and results.

The month got underway with a 3-1 defeat at Blackpool but the Robins bounced back in fine style as an Antoine Semenyo strike and a Michael Morrison own-goal helped them to a 2-1 home win against Reading.

That was followed up by a 3-1 loss at Swansea City but Pearson’s men moved on from that defeat in Wales by putting in one of their best performances of the season.

Andreas Weimann and Semenyo - who is a key target for both Celtic and West Ham - grabbed a goal in each half as City claimed all three points against in-form Middlesbrough, despite Matt Crooks setting nerves on edge when he pulled a goal back in second-half injury-time.

However, any chance to build momentum following that win against Boro was squandered by the 2-1 home reverse against Coventry City and last weekend’s 2-0 loss at Nottingham Forest.

Despite the inconsistent nature of results and performances, a number of Robins players have impressed during February and BristolWorld has assessed who were the top performers with the use of whoscored.com’s rankings system.
