Bristol City’s FA Cup third round opponents revealed - Swansea City to open New Year at Ashton Gate

Bristol City will host league rivals Swansea City at Ashton Gate in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup. Both Championship teams automatically enter the competition at this stage and have avoided drawing any of the Premier League sides or lower league opposition.
The tie is due to take place between Friday, January 6 to Monday, January 9. it will be the first home game of 2023 for City who open up the New Year away at Blackburn Rovers.

Hide AdThe two teams met earlier in the season in a 1-1 draw. Tommy Conway opened the scoring for the Robins but Olivier Ntcham responded in the final 15 minutes of the match.
The tie could be played at an earlier kick-off time after the Championship fixture was played at 12.00 pm on the recommendation of Avon & Somerset Police. Welsh broadcasters S4C could also request to broadcast the fixture.
