Bristol City predicted XI v Sheffield Wednesday: Robins set for quadruple change as Liam Manning searches for QPR response

City will face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough

Liam Manning is expected to make several changes to the Bristol City side that slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Championship strugglers QPR when the Robins visit Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

Ilias Chair’s strike for the Hoops earned the points, as a below-par from City halted any momentum following their win against Premier League hopefuls Southampton.

Manning is set to welcome back Scott Twine and Cam Pring for the match, which is a big boost for his side.

Twine hasn’t featured since his debut against Watford, where he netted the opener in the 1-1 draw, while Pring has missed the last two with a knee injury.

But there is no guarantee that the duo will come straight back into the starting team.

Both Jason Knight and Anis Mehmeti have been performing well in the attacking areas, while Haydon Roberts has deputised efficiently at left-back.

A big injury blow handed to the Robins earlier this week was Sam Bell’s situation. After pulling up in the first half against QPR, his manager confirmed that the winger will miss the rest of the season and will undergo surgery on a hamstring tear.

Bell’s absence could provide an opportunity for Dire Mebude, or see Mark Sykes begin on the right.

The Robins will face no easy task against Wednesday, who have won two of their last three matches.

Danny Rohl’s side are scrapping for points at the bottom of the table and will throw everything into the match in front of a home crowd at Hillsborough.

The last time these two met, City ran out narrow 1-0 winners thanks to Rob Dickie’s goal after Barry Bannan was dismissed in the first half.

Here’s how I think the Robins will set up…
