Bristol City v Huddersfield Town team news - 9 out and 4 doubts for Championship clash

The Robins host Huddersfield on Saturday

Bristol City will be without several key players for their Championship clash against strugglers Huddersfield Town at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

The Robins have missed the likes of Rob Atinkson, Kal Naismith and Ayman Benarous for long periods this term, as well as Sam Bell who has been ruled out for the season with a hamstring problem.

City are particularly short on numbers in defence, with Rob Dickie set to miss the match, as well as Atkinson and Naismith.

That leaves Zak Vyner as City’s sole senior centre-back, with youngster Jamie Knight-Lebel the only other out-and-out centre-back available to Liam Manning.

One position where the Robins are not short on numbers is midfield, with Matty James, Joe Williams, Jason Knight and Andy King all up for selection to fill the two spots in the middle of the park.

Taylor Gardner-Hickman has missed City’s last four matches with a minor injury and could be rested against the Terriers with little to gain from rushing him back into action.

Likewise, the visitors will be missing several players.

John Ruffels, Radinio Balker, Yuta Nakayama and Jonothan Hogg will all miss out due to long-term injuries, while Kian Harratt is serving a suspension after breaching FA betting rules.

Jack Rudoni, Bojan Radulovic and Tom Lees have all been sidelined of late but could feature in some capacity at Ashton Gate.

Town will be desperate to take something from the match, as they continue their battle to remain in the division next season.

The visitors currently sit one place above the relegation zone, level on points with 22nd-placed Sheffield Wednesday, with four matches remaining.
