Bristol City predicted XI v Blackburn Rovers: Robins set for key change after Sunderland stalemate

City will be without Rob Dickie again when they host Blackburn

Bristol City will look to extend their three-match unbeaten run when they host Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

The Robins drew 0-0 with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last time out, following 1-0 victories against Leicester City and Plymouth Argyle.

City’s positive run has seen them tidy up the defensive side of their game of late, they’ve now recorded three consecutive clean sheets, as well as four clean sheets in five matches.

This run is even more impressive considering the Robins’ lack of options in defence, with Kal Naismith, Rob Atkinson and Rob Dickie all out injured.

While Liam Manning has solidified the City defence, their attack hasn’t been firing on all cylinders.

The Robins have netted just three times in their last five matches but will be eager to find their scoring boots in front of a packed Ashton Gate crowd.

However, the Robins will face no easy task against Rovers. Despite sitting in 16th place, the visitors come into the match after a 0-0 draw with Southampton and a 5-1 demolition job against Sunderland.

The home defence will need to pay close attention to Sammie Szmodics, who leads the scoring charts in the Championship with 23 goals so far this season.

The last time these two met, the Robins were defeated 2-1 at Ewood Park after Scott Wharton and Arnor Sigurdsson cancelled out Mark Sykes’ strike.

Here’s how I think City will line-up…
