Bristol City transfers: Nigel Pearson’s squad next season if the rumours are true - gallery

How Bristol City's starting XI could look next season based on all the transfer rumours so far

Bristol City are a club showing progression after a difficult few years of cutting their cloth accordingly. The Robins are on course to record their highest finish under manager Nigel Pearson, who has led the team to 17th, and 18th placed finishes so far. City can finish 14th, or be overtaken by Stoke City who are below them, but either way there's clear signings that things are on the up.

The last few months have been perhaps a look to the future, with Pearson trying different players, whilst also contending with numerous injury and suspension problems. He's been someone who has preferred to work with a smaller squad, and where there have been gaps, to his credit he has turned to youth, with Omar Taylor-Clarke getting an opportunity.

Antoine Semenyo's sale to Bournemouth and their likely survival means that there is likely to be a windfall fall their way, and that means there is money to spend in the summer. Clubs known that for the first time, City have some transfer funds at their disposal, and may try and charge a premium for their players.

During January, and then in to the months of where the transfer window has been shut, there have been numerous rumours, with some exciting. The most recent is a return for Joe Bryan, who began his career at the club. He’s currently Nice on loan from Fulham, but will be available on a free transfer this summer.

It's hard not to get excited by transfers, and so we have put together a possible starting XI for next season, including some of the possible signings.
