How Bristol City's £59m mega summer transfer window could look after Saudi takeover amid fresh links
Bristol City have an important summer transfer window ahead of them
Bristol City have recently turned to Gerhard Struber as their new manager. He has been picked as their replacement for Liam Manning following his recent exit to Norwich City. The former Barnsley man cut ties with FC Koln a couple of months ago.

Turki Alalshikh has been linked with a takeover at Ashton Gate. The 43-year-old Saudi has been mentioned as a potential new owner of the Championship side. As a result, we have asked AI to simulate a transfer window under Alalshikh, here are the results to take with a pinch of salt...
Bristol City boost defence and midfield
Bristol City have been tipped by AI to fork out £10million to lure defender Cameron Carter-Vickers back to England from Celtic. The USA international, who has made 19 caps for his country, has been with the Hoops since joining them back in 2021. He initially linked up with the Glasgow giants on loan before his switch was later made permanent and he has since become one of their most prized assets.
AI has also predicted that the Robins will further bolster their defensive department by bringing Yerry Mina back to England for £10million. The 30-year-old played for Everton in the Premier League from 2018 to 2023, having previously been at Barcelona. He moved to Italy a couple of years ago and is now at Cagliari.
Further up the pitch, Struber’s side have been backed to land Emi Buendia from Aston Villa in an ambitious £12million transfer. His future at Villa Park is up in the air right now and he could leave for a new challenge elsewhere. He spent time on loan at Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga in the last campaign under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, who has since moved to Real Madrid.
Bristol City turbocharge attacking ranks
Bristol City would likely bring in some more attacking quality if they secured a big money takeover. AI reckons Ben Brereton Diaz would join them for £7million to give them more competition going forward. The 26-year-old is back at Southampton after spending some time back at Sheffield United on a temporary basis during the latter stages of last term.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was also at Bramall Lane last season and helped the Blades reach the play-off final under Chris Wilder, who has since been sacked and replaced by ex-Hull City man Ruben Selles. The young winger is now due to report back to Crystal Palace for pre-season and they will be weighing up what to do with him next. If AI is to be believed, the Robins would swoop in to sign him for £5million in a deal that would see the Eagles let him go permanently, which would be a surprise.
AI believes Andrej Kramaric could be Bristol City’s marquee addition for £15million if Turki Alalshikh bought the club. He has played in England before with Leicester City but his time with the Foxes didn’t really go to plan in the end. The striker has since made Hoffenheim his home and has been prolific for them, firing 143 goals in 325 outings altogether.
