Bristol City's transfer deadline day consisted of two arrivals and two departures in a relatively satisfactory finish to the January transfer window.

Anis Mehmeti joined from Wycombe Wanderers for an undisclosed fee, in what the Chairboys say is the largest fee they have received. He joined on a three-and-a-half-year deal and will wear the 11 shirt, which was left vacant after Antoine Semenyo's sale to Bournemouth.

In between Harry Cornick's move to Ashton Gate, which was held up by the Hatters' search for a replacement and their Championship match with Cardiff City, it was announced that both Chris Martin and Timm Klose were both released from their contracts. Klose and Martin were out-of-contract in the summer but after a lack of interest, they have been allowed to leave their contracts early, and can now seek a new club without there being any complications.

Cornick was the last bit of transfer news on Tuesday evening, and he was confirmed for an undisclosed fee after being left out of Luton's 18-man squad in their win over Cardiff. The 27-year-old was thought to be a target for the summer but the Semenyo money has been reinvested back into the playing squad.

AFC Wimbledon played hard ball on Jack Currie, rejecting four offers from the Robins, which meant that Jay Dasilva's move to Coventry City did not take place. Both left-backs are out-of-contract in the summer and it could be explored at the end of the season, but for now both players will have to continue where they are. Jake O'Brien was another player linked with a move to Bristol City, and he would have added defensive cover but they could not persuade Crystal Palace to end his loan at Molenbeek in Belgium.

No Cornick for Luton!

Harry Cornick is not in Luton Town’s 18-man match-day squad to face Cardiff City this evening, which is a sign that a move could be imminent. BristolLive say that Cornick has undergone a medical and the hold-up is that the Hatters are searching for a replacement, with Joe Taylor from Peterborough the man likely to replace him.

Currie third bid rejected

The South London Press report that a third bid from Bristol City for Jack Currie has been rejected by AFC Wimbledon.

FOURTH bid rejected!

A fourth bid has been rejected by AFC Wimbledon from Bristol City for Jack Currie. Football Insider report that Currie wants the move but the Dons are playing hardball and at least want him to stay until the end of the season.

Jake O’Brien will not be joining Bristol City in this transfer window. A deal will not take place and O’Brien will see out the season in Belgium.

We’re into the remaining hour of the January transfer winow, with one more arrival expected at Bristol City. Luton Town’s match with Cardiff has finished, and so Harry Cornick could soon be announced as a Robins player.

No Deadline Day move for Jay Dasilva as Coventry City confirm their transfer business is done. It was dependent on Currie moving to Bristol City from Wimbledon. Something could happen in the summer though.

Bristol City have announced that Chris Martin and Timm Klose have left the club by mutual consent.

As both players have been released inside of the transfer window, they will be free to find a new club. Martin was said to have interest in League One, and his contract being terminted makes it just that slight bit easier when finding a new club.

Luton boss Rob Edwards on Harry Cornick

Rob Edwards has spoken to LutonToday about Harry Cornick’s situation following their 1-0 win over Cardiff City.

“To clear one or two things up, we have given Harry permission to go and speak to a club that’s maybe been named and it’s out there at the moment anyway.

“He’s been a fantastic servant to this club. It’s still ongoing at the moment, so I’m speaking with a little bit of (caution), but he’s been a fantastic servant for this club.

“He’s got an opportunity to look after himself and his family and everything, and in the end he expressed a real interest and desire to go and speak.
