Ahead of the highly anticipated 2022/23 Championship campaign, Bristol City have unveiled their new home shirt.

With a red collar and white sleeves, the new kit is a tribute to the strip worn in 1954/55 when the Robins won promotion from Division Three South.

With plenty of the summer break still to go, we take a look at today’s transfer rumours and news.

Ex-Robins ace joins local rivals

Following his release by Bristol City, Callum O’Dowda has opted to join Championship rivals Cardiff City this summer.

The winger parted ways with the Robins after six years at the club, where he made 160 league appearances.

With plenty left in his locker, the the Bluebirds confirmed the signing of the 27-year-old on a three-year deal yesterday.

O’Dowda had attracted plenty of interest following his release, with Cardiff thought to be one of seven clubs in pursuit.

Following the move, O’Dowda explained why he chose the short trip to Wales for his next challenge.

Speaking on Cardiff’s club website, he said: “The intent and the passion the manager showed, and also the business that the club has been doing in the transfer window, was something that I want to be part of.

“I’m at a stage in my career where I’m hungry, I want to achieve as much as I can, and I feel as though I could be hitting my prime now. So, it’s all about kicking on with the right team, the right manager and a fantastic club.”

City face competition for midfielder

Stoke City are prepared to battle Bristol City for Reading’s Andy Rinomhota this summer, according to Bristol Live.

The Royals confirmed that the midfielder was yet to respond to their contract offer and is currently set to become a free agent at the end of the summer - a potential move that the Robins are eager to take advantage of.

With Nigel Pearson’s side showing interest in Rinomhota for a number of weeks now, we could soon see them step up in their pursuit as more clubs join the race for his signature.

The 25-year-old joined Reading from AFC Portchester in 2018 and has since made 125 appearances in the Championship.
