The Bristol City rumour mill continues to churn as the Robins edge closer to certain summer deals but also prepare to say farewell to some key players. Like their Championship rivals, City are expected to bring in some exciting new personnel and make some money through the sale of Ashton Gate stars.

Here’s a look at some of the latest updates on Bristol City’s summer transfer stance.

Bristol City to offer fresh deal for Zak Vyner

City are eager to get some positive talks flowing with Zak Vyner as he enters the final 12 months of his current contract at Ashton Gate. A new deal was already offered to the centre-back earlier in the year, but he opted not to sign the extended terms and now, the Robins could risk losing him if offers come in this window.

Bristol City initially looked to tie Vyner down in March but the proposed contract was reportedly not satisfactory. The club has instead bought themselves some time by activating the 12-month clause in his current deal. CEO Phil Alexander recently told Bristol Live that they remain dedicated in their attempt to keep Vyner where he is and the plan is to table a fresh offer.

“We’ve offered him an extended contract, he and his agent decided not to take it at that time — which was about three months ago — which is fine, that’s their prerogative. We still took up the option in his contract, so he’s still got another year with us and hopefully it will be for many more, but we’ll have to see.”

Robins target reveals when he will make a decision on his future

Bristol City are among the clubs interested in swiping Jason Knight from Derby County this summer. They have been edging closer to a potential deal and the 22-year-old has since broken his silence over the talks linking him to a transfer in the coming months.

With a year still left on his current deal, Knight addressed the talks and said that there are “good times ahead” at Derby, with the club being “in a good place” as it stands.

“It’s a fine line and I will have to assess everything in the summer. I will get away for a couple of weeks and shut my mind off and make the decision in the pre-season,” he told Independent.ie after Ireland’s win over Gibraltar on Monday.
