Bristol City striker update emerges whilst next opponents are ‘close’ to new signing

The latest Bristol City news and rumours on Sunday.

Bristol City drew 3-3 away at Blackpool yesterday.

The Robins are 9th after their opening six games of the Championship season.

They have won two, drawn two and lost two so far and find themselves a point outside the play-offs.

Here is a look at the latest news coming out of the club....

Semenyo latest

Bristol City will be praying that they can keep hold of striker Antoine Semenyo between now and the end of the transfer window.

The attacker scored in the game at Bloomfield Road yesterday after coming off the bench.

According to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon, Crystal Palace remain keen on signing him but the player is currently looking to change representatives which could potentially scupper a move to Selhurst Park this month.

What has Pearson said?

Speaking after the match against the Seasiders, Nigel Pearson admitted Semenyo’s future is out of his control.

He scored eight goals in all competitions in the last campaign.

His boss has said, as per a report by Bristol Live:

“I’m not worried about anything like that. What’s there to worry about?

“It’s not in my control. It will be expensive if somebody comes in.”

Next opponents eye signing

The Robins have Huddersfield Town up next on Wednesday.

They drew 2-2 at home to West Bromwich Albion this weekend and could have a new player coming through the door in time for their next clash.

The Terriers are ‘close’ to signing Ipswich Town striker Tyreece Simpson, as per TWTD.
