Bristol City put in a performance to forget against Reading on Saturday afternoon. The Robins slumped to a 2-0 defeat in Berkshire to continued their checkered run of recent form.

Crystal Palace are considering a January move for Blackburn Rovers talisman Ben Brereton Diaz, according to The Sun. The Chilean international is set to become a free agent in the summer amid claims that he is unwilling to pen a new deal at Ewood Park.

The 23-year-old is said to be attracting attention from a number of Premier League clubs, including the likes of Leeds United, Everton, and Fulham, while La Liga outfit Sevilla are also being touted as potential suitors. Indeed, the Spanish side would be able to offer the forward a pre-contractual agreement in the new year.

But now the Palace are also considering a swoop, with manager Patrick Vieira keen to add further “bite” to his attack.

Leeds United consider Championship recall

Leeds United are likely to recall young defender Charlie Cresswell from his loan spell with Millwall in January, according to Phil Hay of The Athletic.

The 20-year-old started the campaign well, scoring three goals in 10 appearances. In recent weeks, however, Millwall boss Gary Rowett has taken the decision to operate with two centre-backs instead of his usual three. Cresswell has subsequently been absent from each of the Championship side’s last four matchday squads.

And Hay has suggested that his parent club could look to end his limbo in the coming months. Speaking on a podcast for The Athletic, the reporter said: “Basically Millwall have switched from a back three to a back four so they only need two centre-backs in the team.

“But he’s not even in the squad, and if that persists I think it’s highly likely that he’ll be back in January and look to go elsewhere. I don’t see anybody wanting to stick that out. If he’s not playing, that’s the point. There is a recall clause in January. The whole point of him going to Millwall was to get games.”

Baggies in Corberan talks

West Brom are reportedly “in advanced talks” with former Huddersfield Town boss Carlos Corberan with view to him taking over in the dugout at The Hawthorns, according to Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett. Albion have been without a permanent manager since parting company with Steve Bruce earlier this month.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Dorsett said: “West Brom in advanced talks with Carlos Corboran over head coach vacancy. A deal could be completed by the end of the weekend.”
