Bristol City have recently announced their new kit ahead of the 2022/23 season and are bringing back the white sleeves which were last used after City’s promotion from Division Three in the 1954/55 season.

There has been a mixture of responses from Robins’ fans with many in favour of the more retro designs and others feeling it belongs back in the 50s.

In terms of transfers, meanwhile, the Robins are still being made to wait on a final decision from Forest Green Rovers’ Kane Wilson, who is still considering his options after being linked with a potential transfer to newly relegated Watford.

As the summer transfer season looms, here is a round up of the latest transfer stories from Bristol City and their Championship rivals.

Hull City pull out of race against Bristol City for defender

Former Hull City defender Curtis Davies had been planning a return to his former side but after recent talks between the two parties, the Tigers have decided to pull out of the race.

Recovering from a recent serious Achilles injury Davies, who is nearly 38-years-old, played every minute of his current club Derby County’s 2021/22 season, highlighting just how strong his fitness is.

Davies first joined Hull in 2013 and won Player of the Year in his debut season.

However, Hull have decided against a move towards Davies opening him up to a potential swoop in from the Robins, who had been hoping to edge out the Tigers during the transfer window.

Sheffield United place £25m price tag on star midfielder

Sheffield United are reportedly set to only consider bids for their star midfielder, Sander Berge, if they come in the region of £25million.

Reports from The Star suggest that the Blades are keen to hold on to their Norwegian midfielder despite growing interest from some of England’s top-tier sides.

Berge’s side narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2021/22 season and could well be seen rising the ranks of English football if a sizeable offer in excess of £25m comes in.

Cardiff City could lose midfielder to League One

Will Vaulks will see his contract run out at the end of the season at Cardiff City and as yet there have been no moves to extend his stay in Wales.

As he is due to become a free agent this summer, the 72 suggests that League one’s Sheffield Wednesday have been showing interest in the midfielder who could be a key part of bolstering Wednesday’s midfield support.

This would not be the first time Vaulks has played in South Yorkshire after spending time at Rotherham United between 2016 and 2019, scoring 19 goals in 137 games.

Andre Gray is set to leave Watford at the end of this season as a free agent having spent the last season on loan at QPR.

He finished the 2021/22 season with 10 goals in 28 league appearances and the Jamaican international is now drawing attention from Preston North End.

Football Insider also claims that Birmingham City, Cardiff City and Reading are all keen on the 30-year-old as well.

However, LancsLive reporter George Hodgson has suggested that Preston’s boss Ryan Lowe is keen for the Watford man: “You can see Lowe wanting a player of his calibre.”

Gray’s wages will remain the main obstacle for Preston, and while this seems the most likely move, Gray will have to accept a significant pay-cut if he is to move to the Lilywhites.
