Bristol City predicted starting XI against Nottingham Forest - Return needed for defensive enforcer

Nigel Pearson’s got a limited Bristol City squad to choose from but they are still capable of beating Nottingham Forest

Bristol City travel to a sold-out City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in search of a first away win in four months.

It’s ten games without a win on the road for the Robins and Forest are for sure tricky opposition.

Nigel Pearson is expected to make a few changes to the side that lost 2-1 to Coventry City in midweek.

The busy schedule has meant that some players for example Joe WIlliams have had to settle for a place on the bench before being brought on.

It was a youthful side and interestingly the midfield had a lower average age than their under-23’s side that played earlier in the day.

Fortunately there are no new injury concerns with a majority of the players unavailable, long-term absentees.

It was Curtis Fleming who conducted this week’s pre-match conference and he said Dylan Kadji had been training with the first-team while Josh Owers has been on the periphery.

Despite City looking healthy for a place in the division next year given the gap between them and the relegation zone, Fleming said the foot won’t be taken on the gas so don’t expect a raft of youngsters to feature from now until the end of the season.

Nigel Pearson though, who spoke to the club this week, said you’ll have to wait and see on his team selection and that he may have to be creative given he is working with a small squad at the moment.

This is how we think City might line up when they take on Forest this Saturday afternoon in the Championship.
