Bristol City have offered teenage sensation Alex Scott a new contract as they look to fend off interest from more than a dozen Premier League clubs.

The 19-year-old has continued on from his breakout season, and is one of the first names on the team sheet for the Robins. Scott has played in every Championship match he has been available for, with age not a problem for manager Nigel Pearson.

Scott's talents have not gone amiss with several teams from English football's top flight taking notice of the player, with scouts sent to matches. The 'Guernsey Grealish' he is dubbed, won the UEFA Under-19 Championship last summer, and was one of only three players not contracted to a Premier League side. The Premier League clubs however now want to make him one of their players, with an immense amount of interest.

In a bid to fend off interest from Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are the two clubs with the most genuine interest this transfer window, City have decided to offer Scott a new deal. Scott's current contract does not run out until the summer of 2025, and so any new deal would further tie down their playmaker.

"He's attracting attention as you'd expect but he's signed for Bristol City for another two and a half years too," Lansdown said in an interview with BBC Radio Guernsey.

"We're keen to extend that further and he's got a contract offer on the table, but we know there'll be people interested in Alex. We're not looking to sell him so he's a Bristol City player and that's the end of the story at the moment."

A price of £25m was reportedly slapped on Scott earlier in this window, which was said to have put off Wolves. An initial price of £12m was touted but Nigel Pearson batted that away, and now £25m seems a fairer price a player regarded as the best young talent in the English Football League.

Leeds United, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, as well as struggling Everton, have also been linked with a move for Scott over the last 12-months. Scott this season has five assists in 26 league matches this season, and whilst he searches for his first girl, he has already doubled his assists from last season.
