Bristol City have announced that O’Neills will make their kits moving forward and have revealed a new shirt which will be worn against Hull City.

The Robins had a six-year deal with Danish manufacturer hummel which was due to run until the end of the 2027/28 season. but now they have been replaced by O'Neils, who are based in Ireland. For two-and-a-half seasons, Hummel had made City’s kits, and their designs had gone down fairly positively amongst the fan base, who could be seen in up-to-date replica kits.

Hummel's distributor, Elite Sports Group, went into administration in November, which has affected several clubs like Millwall and Northampton Town who had wore their kits. Leaugue Two side Newport County recently announced that they would partner with VX3 at the end of the season.

City have taken the action of immediately replacing their kit for the 14 games left of their regular league season, as well as the FA Cup tie with Manchester City. The design - which will be worn from the game against Hull City onwards, and will also be on show against Manchester City, is the 2023/24 kit. The kit release has been brought forward to allow for City to have enough kit from now until the end of the season.

Club chairman Jon Lansdown said: “We’re delighted to announce the partnership with O’Neills to become our new kit supplier across our men’s, women’s, and academy teams.

“Their products are manufactured within the UK which is a rarity in the industry and a benefit from a sustainability point of view, as well as ensuring a strong supply chain of products for both our squad and supporters throughout the year.

“Our iconic kits are a key part of our history and identity, and we believe O’Neills will allow us to continue to pioneer our kit designs for years to come.”

O’Neills Pro Club Manager, Neil Williams said: “It is a privilege to be working with Bristol City over the coming seasons and to expand our presence in professional football with a club that has such a strong infrastructure and commitment to its city.”

“We are excited to utilise our unique position of being an Irish and UK based manufacturer to provide Bristol City with the flexibility and creativity to deliver fans new products more frequently than ever before.”

The shirt will be available to supporters before the end of the season, though the price of it has not yet been made available. Fans can also buy remaining Hummel products whilst stocks last.
