Bristol City's live Sky Sports fixtures compared to Cardiff, Millwall, Plymouth and Championship rivals

Bristol City will be a part of Sky Sports' launch after agreeing a £953m deal with the EFL.

Bristol City's 2024/25 Championship season gets up and running this weekend as they travel to Hull City.

It's a repeat of the 2022/23 season for the Robins, who began their campaign at the MKM Stadium, losing in controversial fashion. Jean Michael Seri's 93rd-minute goal saw the Tigers come from behind after Andi Weimann had opened the scoring.

Nigel Pearson who was the manager at the time disputed the decision to award the hosts a penalty but Ozan Tufan dispatched it after Benjamin Tetteh had been fouled. A lot has changed since those sides met on the opening day two years ago with different managers at the helm and completely different looking squads.

City fans will have to travel earlier than usual as the match has a kick-off time of 12.30 pm. All EFL games on the opening weekend are being shown on Sky Sports +, a new streaming service which will effectively replace Robins TV and iFollow. If you're a Sky Sports subscriber it will come as no extra cost whilst there are passes for those that don't have a subscription.

As part of the record-breaking deal, more games than ever will be shown by the broadcaster, including Carabao Cup matches. The EFL though has put new rules on Sky Sports and they have had to make a decision on what games they will show from now until mid-January. The move has taken place to allow supporters more time to plan their journey’s after complaints about matches being changed at the last minute which affected supporters as they would be left out of pocket when paying for public transport.

Another move was making television choices a bit more fair as whilst there are some clubs which have bigger fan bases than others, some would rarely feature on TV. Sky Sports have made their decisions, but who will still feature on the television the most? BristolWorld has crunched the numbers...
